Never forget, baby! :)
This is Starling from DC Comics’ Birds of Prey. She’s by far the best thing to come out of the new 52. This was basically an excuse to play around with my new tablet to see how it plays with Adobe Illustrator (quite nicely, thank you). This was mostly done with the tablet, with a few areas flatted in with the pen tool. I drew the bird in a hyper real way that looked completely wrong when I shrunk it down. It still doesn’t look right. It’s a starling, by the way, which should be obvious. I don’t like the amorphous blobs on Starling’s sleeve in the comics so I didn’t draw them. I went with more foliage instead.
Anyway, this was fun.Reblogging this from my DA account. Enjoy.
I love how it looks like she’s just sitting in the park on a nice sunny day, daydreaming of all kinds of mayhem and smiling about it.
On the short list of things that don’t suck about the New DC 52, Starling (and the whole new Birds of Prey comic series) would be one of those things.

It’s ready!
Tattered Remains, a web-based fan-comic written by me, drawn and coloured by the fabulous Krystal Beisick.
Renee Montoya returns to Gotham City and finds herself knee-deep in ghosts from her past. Will she finally start dealing with everything she left behind, or will she continue to run?
I drew this! Thank you Val for writing this and working with me on it. I hope everyone enjoys it!
Everyone should check this out. I loved it. Can’t wait to read more…
Wowza!!

I didn’t think so.

Best Choice! (though I like the first one too!)
Birds of Prey v2 #12
A page of original Michael Gaydos art from Manhunter #34 from the collection of huntresstheitalianmafiaprincess. This is pretty much a dream page for me with Huntress, Lady Blackhawk and Kate all on the same page together. I think Helena even wore the belly covered outfit so Kate wouldn’t snicker at the impracticality of the other costume. :)
(As I was considering all the wonderful art Erica has commissioned or original pages she has in her art collection, I had this image pop up in my head of what a visit to her house would be like. I think I would be like George Costanza on that one episode of “Seinfeld” where there was a fire in the kitchen and he ran over kids and women to get to the door. I can see Erica greeting me at the door and me pushing her out of the way, knocking over her kid and me screaming “WHERE’S THE ART? MUST SEE THE ART!” LOL)
Jesus Saiz cover art to Birds of Prey #13, the original of which is now a prized possession of the author of THE best Huntress site, huntresstheitalianmafiaprincess
